“I am the greatest of all superheroes and I get to do absolutely anything I want.”

The Protector (Antony Starr)

Vought International is a pharmaceutical company headed by Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito). It is the creator of Compound V, a product capable of creating super humans.

In order to sell their product to the army, Vought decided to create several super teams, including a highly publicized team: the Seven.

The headquarters of the company, as well as the HQ of the superhero team, is the Vought Tower. In our reality where super is just comics and movies, the tower doesn’t fully exist.

The production teams have moved to Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. Not looking like a tower at all, the building was digitally modified to transform this concert hall into a real New York building.

Several scenes taking place in indoor rooms or in the tower hall were indeed shot in Roy Thomson Hall.

Toronto is one of the cities favored by many productions for filming movies and series and The Boys is no exception to the rule. A large part of the shooting of the episodes took place exclusively in the city without a hitch, except once. Series of extreme violence, the shooting of season 2 had to relocate for the shooting of a sequence. Indeed, the production wanted to shoot a scene where one of the super attacks the crowd at Mel Lastman Square, the exact location where an attack took place in 2018. In order not to make the inhabitants relive the trauma, the municipality asked to relocate the shooting of this scene.

Only 5 months of shooting were necessary to complete the first season of The Boys.
