Located in Mount’s Bay, washed by the waters of the English Channel, St. Michael’s Mount is one of the jewels of the British Isles. Named Carrack Looz en Cooz in the Cornish language, for “gray rock in the woods”, this site was once located in a forest, before it was completely submerged. Home to a castle belonging to the Barons Saint-Levan, St. Michael’s Mount also includes a 15th-century chapel, a few houses and a harbour. According to legend, it would be located on the same telluric axis as the other Saint-Michael mountains in the world and would thus lead to Lydia, an ancient country in Asia Minor where Saint-Georges would have slain a dragon.
