“You’ll see it’s not very big, but it’s very cute”

The woman from the agency (Raphaëline Goupilleau)

Taillandier (Patrick Chesnais) has decided to leave home, far from his family. On his way, he meets Marylou (Jeanne Lambert), a young teenager abandoned by her parents. He then decides to help her by housing her. Having had enough of the hotel, he rented a small vacation house by the week on the coast of the island of Oleron in Saint-Georges-d’Oleron.

A clash of generations, where each learns from the other. In a father/daughter like relationship, they will overcome their problem and find meaning in their lives.

In one of the scenes at home, Marylou is watching television. It is the film L’Été meurtrier, another film by Jean Becker released in 1983, which is shown. “I was just looking for a scene of a girl with her mother, so she would be touched. Why go looking elsewhere?” the director explained.

Since his film Children of the Marsh released in 1999, Jean Becker tries to work with at least two cameras. “You can work in double value, to get closer or on something more general. The choice is then made in the editing”, he explains.

696 Av. de la Durandière

696 avenue de la Durandière, in Saint-Georges-d’Oléron, hosts a small vacation home on the edge of the Douhet beach.

Recognizable with its blue doors and shutters typical of the island of Oleron, the small vacation home is located on the edge of the beach of Douhet. This fine sandy beach offers a view on the island of Aix and the Fort Boyard.
In the past, there was a neighboring house which will be destroyed a few years after the release of Jean Becker’s film Welcome Among Us, which had set its cameras in this small vacation home.
