“A genuine Felix lighter. Illuminating.”

James Bond (Roger Moore)

In 24 hours, three MI6 agents are killed in various parts of the world. The only link between all of them? Dr. Kananga, who was being investigated by each of the agents…

One of them was murdered in the middle of a session at the United Nations. James Bond is sent to New York to find out the whole case. On the spot, he will be able to count on the support of his long-time friend, Félix Leiter.

1962

That was the date when Ian Fleming thought of Roger Moore for the role of James Bond. Died in 1964, the author never got to see his first choice on the big screen, since Live and Let Die was only released in 1973.

United Nations Headquarters

The United Nations was founded after the Second World War, in 1945, to preserve world peace.

Peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, human rights, disarmament, terrorism, humanitarian and health crises, equality between men and women, governance, food production… are all missions that the UN and its 193 members have set for themselves.

The headquarters of the United Nations is located in New York. It was inaugurated on January 9, 1951, built on land donated by John Davison Rockefeller Junior.

The building benefits from an extraterritoriality regime. This means that no member of the U.S. security forces may enter the building without authorization from the Secretary-General, the highest official of the institution.
