On October 1, 1989, 43 women from all over the world gave birth at the same time, without having had any sign of pregnancy before. Seven of these children are then adopted by the eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore).
His goal is to create an academy of superheroes with the aim of saving humanity. He trains six of these seven children to fight crime.
Over the years, these vigilantes gradually leave the academy to live their own lives. But the fates of these siblings cross again when Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) reappears sixteen years after his disappearance, at the funeral of their adoptive father Sir Reginald Hargreeves.
Where is the Umbrella Academy manor located?
The headquarters of the Umbrella Academy is the mansion where they grew up. It is inhabited only by Pogo (Adam Godley) the pet monkey and Grace Hargreeves (Jordan Claire Robbins), a mother robot.
In the comics, the building is located in the middle of an estate, away from civilization. But in the Netflix series, he is on Hamilton Street in Canada. Its entrance is at 4 King Street E. It alone is recognizable.

Digital Changes
On the aerial shots of the mansion in the series, we notice that just behind the entrance is the famous courtyard where the funeral takes place. In our reality without superheroes, no enclosed space takes place here. This is a digital overlay of the Joey and Toby Tanenbaum Opera Centre courtyard.
Regarding the interiors, they are built in studio, trying to be as faithful as possible to those of the building of the comics imagined by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba.
The Umbrella Academy is composed of 7 children, all numbered. The meaning of these numbers is not yet known. The ranking can simply be the order in which Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopted them.
