In search of the man who threatens him with gold bullets, James Bond travels to Hong Kong and follows a young woman, Andrea Anders (Maud Adams), who appears to have ties with this individual.
The trail leads him to The Peninsula, a luxury hotel where the young woman is staying in room 602.
Thanks to a trick that includes a champagne bucket and two glasses, Agent 007 manages to get the room door open and contact Andrea.
After seriously threatening her, then convincing her to help him, James Bond offers the young woman a glass of champagne.
When James Bond arrived in Hong Kong, the guide said that the wreck of the Queen Elizabeth mysteriously sank in 1971. In fact, it was a series of fires that led to the sinking of the ship in the bay in 1972. It was to be turned into a floating university. Many people think that these fire starts were voluntary for insurance purposes.
The Peninsula Hong Kong
Opened in 1928, this hotel is the first of The Peninsula Hotels group, today present all over the world.
The hotel is particularly renowned for its fleet of Rolls-Royce “green Peninsula” cars. Guests can benefit from this luxury and very popular transportation.
The first models were purchased in 1970, 7 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Due to the great success of these modes of transport, the hotel regularly renews its fleet.
In 2018, 14 Rolls-Royce Phantom and a 1934 Phantom II were among the palace’s vehicles.
As for the building, a 30-story tower was added in 1994 with an architecture reminiscent of the original building.
