Atlantic Ocean Road

Honoring the Norwegian origins of the character Madeleine Swann, Cary Joji Fukunaga is keen to shoot as much as possible in Norway. He chooses to film the first part of one of the film’s great chases on the Atlantic Road, a long ribbon of asphalt above the waves from which the impression of riding in balance between the sky and the sea is total. In the magic of cinema, the chase continues in a forest that is supposed to be close by but is actually located in the centre of Scotland in the Cairngorms National Park. When the trailer for No Time to Diewas released, several months before its theatrical release, the road became even more popular. Already ranked ninth among the most visited sites in Norway, it is likely to move up in the near future.
Three films from the James Bond saga have made a stop in Norway: You Only Live Twice, Die Another Day and No Time to Die.
Atlantic Ocean Road
Known all over the world for its spectacular side, this Norwegian road of 8.274 meters connects since 1989 the municipalities of Eide and Averø in the north of the country.
Elected “Norwegian construction of the century” on September 27, 2005, the national road 64 is a tourist attraction in itself. Begun in 1983 and completed in July 1989, it spans several small islands and reefs and includes eight bridges connected by several causeways and viaducts. It also offers a breathtaking view of the sea, the fjords and the surrounding mountains. It is the best known Norwegian road along with the Trollstigen road.
