Tavern on the Green
The evening’s ruined. The little party that Louis Tully has been preparing since the beginning of the film is interrupted by the arrival of a demonic hound.
The brave accountant flees his apartment, abandoning his guests, to escape into Central Park. He tries to take refuge inside the Tavern on the Green, one of the posh restaurants in the park.
He knocked on the windows and screamed, begging those present to open the door for him. They barely look at him.
When the hound catches up with him, and takes possession of his spirit, Louis screams to death, interrupting for a few seconds the meal of the customers who quickly resume the course of their evening.
Rick Moranis was the production’s second choice for the role of Louis Tully. The first to be approached was John Candy, who was unavailable at the time of the filming.

In 1934, Robert Moses transformed the premises into a restaurant as part of his renovation project ... Learn more about Tavern On the Green
