“- Have you broken something?

– Only my tailor’s heart.”

However, Agent 007, who was dismissed by the British Minister of Defence, did not let go of the Moonraker affair. He travels to Rio de Janeiro in the footsteps of Hugo Drax.

At the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, James Bond (Roger Moore) meets Holly Goodhead (Lois Chiles), a CIA agent. On their way back down to investigate, they are interrupted by Jaws (Richard Kiel) who joins them on the cable car to kill them.

A battle ensues during which James and Holly manage to escape thanks to a chain sliding along the cable car cable. Jaws, on the other hand, because of the speed of the cabin, finds itself recessed in the control centre.

More fear than harm for the giant, he comes out almost unharmed and meets Dolly (Blanche Ravalec), a young woman he will fall madly in love with.

1975

Jaws is named after Steven Spielberg’s film Jaws Surprisingly, Steven Spielberg has always wanted to direct a James Bond film, but has been turned down by producers several times.

Sugarloaf Mountain

Named for its shape reminiscent of a block of refined sugar, Sugarloaf Mountain is a very popular tourist attraction.

Culminating at 396 meters, the gigantic hill is accessible by cable car.

The Brazilian engineer Augusto Ferreira Ramos had the idea in 1907 to install a cable car to reach the top of the Sugarloaf Mountain. In 1912, his project was realized.

It was the first cable car in the country and only the third in the world. Its cabins were initially made of wood and remained in service for 60 years. In 1972, new models were ordered before being replaced in 2009.
