Stéphane's house
A very influential and manipulative person, Stéphane Chevalier (David Marsais) is an employee of the Univers Tech store. A new technology enthusiast, he buys a lot of products referenced by his store, to the point of going into debt.
He gets involved in Daniel’s (Grégoire Ludig) project to earn money by participating in TV games. They decide to shoot the video clip of Besoin de chanter in front and behind Stéphane’s house. A memorable and unique clip, not without its flaws.
A large part of the film Les Vedettes is shot in La Rochelle. On the other hand, for the residential area, notably Stéphane’s house, the team settled in the town of Les Bréviaires in the Yvelines department.
For the outdoor scenes, on the front side, they used the house at 6 rue des Prés du Roy, as opposed to the scenes using the garden behind the house, at number 3 of the same street. It is the pavilion just opposite the one occupied by Hervé (Éric Théobald), Stéphane’s neighbor.
The title Besoin de chanter by Simplement Dan is 169 seconds long, or 2 minutes and 49 seconds.
6 Rue des Prés du Roy
The residential area of Prés du Roy is located in the commune of Les Bréviaires in the Yvelines department.
As an area of attraction to Paris, the town of Bréviaires has been growing demographically since the 1980s. To meet this demand, the commune has developed several residential neighborhoods, including the one on rue des Prés du Roy.
The house located at 6 rue des Prés du Roy is a standard pavilion modelled on all the houses in the residential area. Even if at first glance it seems classic, this pavilion is known in pop culture for being Stéphane’s house in the movie The Wannabes of the Palmashow.
