Lucy Carlyle (Ruby Stokes)

The St. Petersburg train station Pancras is a real movie set. Widely used in films such asHarry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Batman Begins, it is the starting point for the London experience of Lucy Carlyle, the main character of the Lockwood & Co. series, played on screen by Ruby Stokes.

London Calling

Joe Cornish did not want to export the production of Lockwood & Co. or even shoot too much in the studio. This is how the St. Petersburg station came to be. Pancras and the streets of the British capital have become the setting for an invasion of killer ghosts that is decidedly unlike any other.

A star is born

At the center of the plot, Ruby Stokes really impressed Joe Cornish during her audition as he explained to Coming Soon: “We found Ruby very early in the casting process. We used the scene where Lockwood interviews him in the first episode as an audition scene. While she was playing, we almost came to believe that she was actually able to hold an object and feel the energy that the object is imbued with. So she got the role very quickly. I think he’s a superstar!

Saint Pancras Station

As one of London’s main stations, St. Pancras sees 36 million passengers pass through every year.

Borrowing its name from the district in which it is located, St. Pancras station was built in 1868. Its neo-Gothic style architecture, as well as Barlow Hall and the St. Pancras Chambers, by architect George Gilbert Scott , quickly ensured him a certain recognition. Extended several times, it now hosts the HS1 high-speed line and Eurostar trains from France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Its Victorian facade was used in the film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as the facade of King’s Cross station. Some scenes from Batman Begins and the first Spice Girls music video were also filmed there.
