“Qui mouille le maillot ? C’est l’équipe de France de volley comme Yavbou !”

Klima

Klima is not only a rapper but also a volleyball player and not just any player! It is Earvin N’Gapeth, member of the French men’s team, Olympic champion in Beijing in 2021.

In parallel to his high level sports career, he publishes rap albums. And what better way than to mix his two passions by putting in image his piece Team Yavbou in futuring with Wallace. In his 2015 song, he talks about the strength of the French team, a band of buddies nicknamed Yavbou in an equivocal verlan. At that time, this formation frightened many opponents. If they are not the strongest, there is madness and points from elsewhere with them. This composition is used as the anthem for the World League, which she wins in July of that year.

Earvin N’Gapeth is happy since he is playing almost at home. If he never wore the jersey of the Stade Poitevin, he was trained in the other club of the city, the CEP / Saint-Benoît from his 13 to 17 years. Poitiers remains his heart city. He often comes back there and shoots some of his clips like Zombi or Rien à péter.

For Team Yavbou, the images are those of the game France – Czech Republic, won 3 to 0 by the comrades of Klima. The match takes place at the Frédéric Lawson Body, the cauldron of the Stade Poitevin Volley-Ball, on June 12, 2015. Named after a former team captain who tragically passed away, this bubbling arena is a hell of a place for opponents.

3 200

Salle Frédéric Lawson-Body

The Frédéric Lawson Body hall is a sports venue in Poitiers dating from 1970.

Since 1989, the Ganterie sports hall has been named after Frédéric Lawson Body, a Franco-Togolese player who played for the Stade Poitevin Volleyball and died that year.

A boiling cauldron for this team, it can accommodate 3,200 spectators.

It has also seen Poitiers Basket 86 play some fantastic games.
