“Here, how’s the shape, big guy? How’s your penis? You know what, I have an idea. Why don’t you come with me to the bathroom and I’ll take a look.”

Doctor Green (Richard Benjamin)

Anchor of the Jewish community, the Skirball Cultural Center welcomed the You People team for the synagogue scene but also for the one that takes place outside, when Jonah Hill is confronted with the eyes of his family’s relatives. An opportunity for Kenya Barris given that the Skirball Cultural Center is, in fact, frequented by many people from the Jewish community in Los Angeles.

A discreet actor

Although involved in the production and writing of You People, Jonah Hill refused to promote it, leaving it to his co-stars to talk about the film with the press. The result of a decision made by the actor, in order to protect his mental health. The other actors supported Jonah Hill. Julia Louis-Dreyfus told Variety: “You have to protect yourself and do what feels right to you. I want to get out there and support the project because we worked really hard on this, but at the end of the day I’m going to go home and be with my family.

One more step

Discovered in the comedy Superbad, produced by Judd Apatow, Jonah Hill has subsequently turned for the greatest, including Martin Scorsese, in The Wolf of Wall Street. This encouraged him to start producing but also writing and directing. Thus, in 2018 he delivered the teenage drama 90’s, in which he does not act. He was also the focus of the intimate documentary Stutz, on Netflix.
