“- Good morning. Name’s Bond. l believe you have a reservation.

– We’ve been expecting you. l hope you have a pleasant stay.

– l’m sure l will.”

James Bond (Roger Moore) and the receptionist

Bond’s contact in India, Sadruddin (Albert Moses), booked him a hotel room at the Shiv Niwas Palace.

This residence is not chosen at random, the fact of being a client there opens the door to the casino in which Bond (Roger Moore) will meet Kamal Khan (Louis Jourdan) and challenge him with his Fabergé egg.

Once back at the hotel, Bond is greeted by Magda (Kristina Wayborn) who will “succumb” to his charms and steal the famous egg, which the Q department has equipped with a beacon.

Shiv Niwas Palace

Once a palace for visiting dignitaries, the Shiv Niwas Palace is now a popular luxury hotel.

Built in the early 20th century during the reign of Maharana Fateh Singh between 1884 and 1930, the crescent-shaped building was originally a place for receiving dignitaries.

Yesterday mingles with today; cultural heritage rubs shoulders with state-of-the-art facilities for the guests of the establishment.

Equipped with 19 Palace Rooms, 8 Terrace Suites, 6 Royal Suites and 3 Imperial Suites, the Shiv Niwas Palace also boasts regular awards such as the Heritage Grand Prix, Heritage Excellence Award and the National Tourism Award for the Best Heritage Hotel in the Grand Heritage category.
