Big Earvin is the nickname of the French volleyball player Earvin N’Gapeth. Accustomed to the floors of overheated halls in Italy or Russia, he began his playing career at the CEP / Saint-Benoît, a club on the outskirts of Poitiers. But why does a famous volleyball player need a pseudonym? Because the young man has been rapping since he was 12 years old and in recent years he has released albums. For some of his songs, he didn’t go very far for his clips. He simply chose to shoot them in the Three Cities, the neighborhood where he grew up.
Better, Carrément, his title, he slipped in phrases and punchlines about the suburbs of the city of a hundred steeples. Saint Cyprien, le Clos Gaultier and les Sables form the Trois Cités, popular neighborhoods of the city.
After the roof of the shopping mall in Rien à péter, the footbridge of the Léon Blum viaduct in Zombi, he once again used the Tony Lainé school and its various spaces, including the handball court of its gymnasium, for the clip of Carrément. He then gathers his crew, his old friends and former acquaintances, to do some extra work. A nice recognition of the belly for this player Olympic champion with France in 2021 in Beijing. He does not forget his roots in Poitou.
Between 2007 and 2021, Earvin N’Gapeth won 17 national and international trophies.
