In 2017, Roch Voisine released his new album, Devant nous. The singer then embarked on a Canadian and European tour to present his new songs and revive his old ones. Among the many venues that have welcomed the artist from across the Atlantic is the Angelarde in Châtellerault. A notable passage on February 16, 2018.
It is not the first time that the singer sets foot in Poitou. In 1990, after several concerts at the Zenith in Paris, Roch Voisine made a stopover in Châtellerault on the tracks of his ancestors. Indeed, his family emigrated from the city of Poitiers in the 17th century and this famous descendant is looking for traces of Voisine in the area. He took the opportunity to pose for a few photos for Paris Match, in front of the Château de la Borde or on the banks of the Vienne river near the Henri IV bridge.
This stop at l’Angelarde is the opportunity for the singer to return to the land of his ancestors, 28 years after this refreshing passage. A way of looking behind him.
Destined to become a professional field hockey player, Roch Voisine had to put an end to his sporting career at the age of 18 following a knee injury.
