Restaurant Le Jules Verne
All the American films set in Paris are aimed at the Eiffel Tower. However, very few of them can actually shoot there. Especially when it comes to filming in one of the floors of the famous monument. And this is precisely what Jeremy Garelick, the director of Murder Mystery 2 , was able to accomplish.
A prestigious restaurant and its understudy
Among the most beautiful restaurants in Paris, the Jules Verne opened its doors to Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. Murder Mystery 2 was able to enjoy the decor and the view from the main room. Nevertheless, for some scenes, the team had to take refuge in a set built in studio. An impressive reproduction of a part of the Eiffel Tower where the most boisterous sequences could be filmed in complete safety.
Night shooting
Like most of the scenes shot in Paris, the one of the Jules Verne restaurant and the Eiffel Tower was filmed at night. Adam Sandler explained the process during his appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s famous Late Show: “It was very cool. We shot at two in the morning because you go to Paris, you want to see the Eiffel Tower. So they told us that we could shoot on the site but at night, so as not to prevent the tourists from visiting the monument during the day.“
Murder Mystery 2 features a cameo by Jillian Bell, one of the driving forces behind Saturday Night Live.
Jules Verne
Perched on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, the splendid Jules Verne restaurant has a prodigious setting, a breathtaking view of the whole of Paris and exceptional cuisine.
One of the most prestigious restaurants in France, the Jules Verne is run by three-starred chef Frédéric Anton. A true masterpiece by the architect, fully integrated into the Eiffel Tower, it offers several menus in which exceptional products are superbly showcased. Perched 125 meters above the French capital, it offers a breathtaking view of the Champ-de-Mars, the Quai Branly and the Trocadéro.
