“I’m burned out on all the real estate in Paris.”

Constance (Marina Foïs)

A family restaurant located just a few steps from the historic district of La Rochelle, L’Avocette had the great honor of hosting the filming of Irréprochable. The scene that takes place there is the one in which the character of Constance, played by Marina Foïs, explains to Philippe (Jérémie Elkaïm) why she is back in her hometown and what precisely she wants from him.

To shoot this scene, the director Sébastien Marnier chose to use very close-up shots. The front of the restaurant does not appear on the screen and there is nothing to really identify it, except for the decoration, which is very discreet. However, it is indeed at the table of the Avocette that the actors are installed.

Irréprochable is the first film directed by Sebastien Marnier, a writer famous for the novels Mimi, Une vie de petits-fours and Qu4tre. Today, the restaurant l’Avocette has left its place to the Galet doré.

Place du 14 Juillet

A family restaurant with an authentic respect for tradition, the Galet Doré is enthroned on the village square.

A must in L’Houmeau, this establishment puts forward a very friendly atmosphere. The menu, exclusively made up of fresh products and seasonal vegetables, organizes the mixture of earth and sea flavors. Located 10 minutes from the historical center of La Rochelle and 5 minutes from the bridge of the Ile de Ré, the Galet doré also offers its customers a very pleasant terrace.
