If Fisher Island doesn’t actually exist, Regina’s (Anika Noni Rose) house in which Alex Russell does his first cleaning is real. It is in the suburbs of Victoria in Canada that the production finds its happiness, within the rich district of Ten Mile Point. Wanting to set up the cameras in a house with a view of the sea, to accentuate the discrepancy between Alex’s harsh existence and the luxury in which Regina lives, the team sets its sights on a very contemporary building with large bay windows.
Throughout the episodes, the successive directors exploit the interior of the building as well as its terrace. It is also in this house that Alex takes advantage of Regina’s absence to try the jacuzzi. The opportunity for another local celebrity to shine on screen. The Point, an iconic Victoria home valued by Sotheby’s International Realty Canada at $6,600,000, is now visible. The employee regularly returns to her boss’s house as the two women, although they each work in radically different environments, become friends.
Maid received an average rating of 8.4/10 on Rotten Tomatoes. One of the best scores in the history of the red N platform.
3899 Smugglers Cove Rd
While the upscale Ten Mile Point area of Victoria has no shortage of lavish homes, 3899 Smugglers Cove Road has a charm all its own.
In 2017, this architect-designed building was built in the Ten Mile Ecological Reserve.
