“- It appears the fund are actually being withdrawn as we speak.

– Where?

– The Venice branch, of course. Saint Marcos Square. “

But the rest is short-lived. When James Bond receives a call from M (Judi Dench) asking where the HM money was, Agent 007 realizes he’s been fooled.

Furious, he rushes to the Piazza San Marco in search of Vesper (Eva Green), whom he suspects of having withdrawn all the money that was supposed to be returned to England.

He looks for the trace of the young woman everywhere, until he catches a glimpse of her going down an alley.

Martin Campbell directs his second James Bond film after GoldenEye. However, another director wanted to take on this opus, Quentin Tarantino. But the producers have, several times, refused his participation.

St. Mark's Square

Piazza San Marco is a must-see square in Venezia, the only one that deserves the title of “Piazza”.

Piazza San Marco is 175 meters long and 83 meters wide and attracts many tourists all year round.

The Basilica of San Marco, the cafes and stores under its arcades and the many pigeons are among the attractions favored by visitors and locals.

However, this enclave is regularly flooded during periods of high water of the Lagoon.

The winged lion that can be seen at the top of the column was once in France. Napoleon Bonaparte had it removed after the Italian campaign in 1797 to place it in the fountain of the Invalides. The sculpture was returned to Venice in 1816 after being repaired.
