The Marquis of Gramont (Bill Skarsgård)

Among all the Parisian places used by the director Chad Stahelski, the parvis des Droits de l’Homme is one of the most spectacular. No scene in John Wick 4 takes place at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, which is clearly visible on the screen, except that the radio station broadcasting messages to the assassins is located in the building.

The sequence of the parvis des Droits de l’Homme, very important in history, required a particular logistics. Chad Stahelski and his team having asked to cordon off the usually crowded premises to work in peace.

A killer in Paris

A large table and cosy armchairs have been set up on the forecourt for the purpose of this scene which also includes Donnie Yen, Clancy Brown and Ian McShane. The day of the shooting when a mist masked the top of the Eiffel Tower. This gives the meeting between the characters a baroque and mysterious side.

A new villain

Bill Skarsgård plays the Marquis de Gramont in John Wick 4. A new antagonist that the actor described in the columns of Total Film : “The Marquis is a young man of unknown origin who quickly rose through the ranks of the High Table doing God knows what. I’ve always seen him as someone from the gutter who now relishes the glittering suits he wears. He functions as the new sheriff who has decided to rid the world of John Wick once and for all.

Parvis des Droits de l'Homme

Located between the two wings of the Palais de Chaillot, the gateway to the Place du Trocadéro, the Parvis des Droits de l’Homme offers a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower.

Baptized in 1985 by François Mitterrand, then President of the Republic, the Parvis des Droits de l’Homme was created in the mid-1930s, in the continuity of the Palais de Chaillot. On its site was once the concert hall of the former Trocadero Palace. The forecourt is adorned with a plaque on which is inscribed: “Men are born and remain free and equal in rights”, the first article of the Déclaration des Droits de l’Homme et du Citoyen.
