Between her male colleagues, her former lover just transferred from London, her new conquest and her particularly demanding boss, Ingrid Yun (Arden Yun) has a hard time becoming the next partner of Parsons Valentine & Hunt.
Based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Helen Wan, the series follows the adventures and misadventures of this young lawyer with a bright future. While the law firm Parsons Valentine & Hunt is fictional, the offices the heroine visits are in New York City, in the Bank of America Tower. The building was chosen for its original shape and its ideal location in the heart of Midtown.
During the entire shoot, the entire cast was housed in The Carlyle Hotel, where some bar and office scenes were also shot.
Arden Cho began her acting career in 2006 in Peyton Reed’s film The Break-Up.
Bank of America Tower
The Bank of America Tower with its singular shape has quickly become a Manhattan icon.
Built between 2004 and 2009, the skyscraper stands out thanks to its many ecological innovations, making it one of the “greenest” buildings in the world. One of its two spires, for example, is equipped with a wind turbine that provides access to some of the energy needed to run the building.
The building also features transparent insulation panels, light-emitting diodes and a piping system that uses rainwater for part of its water usage. Finally, air filters purify the air in the Bank of America Tower before it is expelled into the city.
