“I think he got the point.”

After spending a pleasant moment underwater, the two lovers go back up to the beach where Domino (Claudine Auger) walks on sea urchins.

James Bond (Sean Connery) takes the thorns out of her foot and explains the real reason for her romance with him. He needs the young woman to find out what Largo’s plans are.

007 gives him the watch and the military plate of his brother, François, who was killed by Largo. He begs her to help him, to save thousands of people from the explosion of the bombs stolen by the criminal.

One of Largo’s henchmen, Vargas (Philip Locke), tries to interrupt the little interview by assassinating Bond. Unsuccessfully, the agent manages to neutralize him with a single harpoon shot.

Surprisingly, it is not Claudine Auger who doubles herself in the French version, but another actress, Nicole Maurey.

Three actresses were being considered for the role of Domino: Julie Christie, Raquel Welch and Faye Dunaway. It was finally Claudine Auger who landed the role, making the Italian Domino Vitali a Frenchwoman, Domino Derval.

Paradise Beach

The fine sandy beach of Paradise Beach is located on Paradise Island, a special island in the Bahamas.

The island belonged to Huntington Hartford (1911-2008), which he bought from Electrolux boss Axel Wenner-Gren in 1959.

The businessman built a casino, a golf course, a café and other tourist attractions.

For the anecdote, the entry of the casinos is forbidden to the inhabitants of the Bahamas. Players’ girlfriends complained that their husbands spent all their money at the various establishments on weekends, with their salaries being paid on Fridays.
