“Listen Helen, it’s autumn, a little forced by the way, because at full speed… I would love to see you.”

Wilfrid (Wilfrid Ameuille)

After the departure of Hélène (Hélène Bressiant), Lucie (Lucie Guien), Thomas (Thomas Depas) and Francis (Francis Soetens), Wilfrid feels quite alone. He then invites Hélène to come back to see him. The young woman passes by the castle of Morthemer to go to the property of the manager of washing stations.

The production was able to benefit from the real home of its main interpreter. They were staying there, shooting and disturbing at night. After the shooting, Wilfrid made known to Claude Schmitz, the director, his desire to see them return to shoot at his place, near Valdivienne. Braquer Poitiers has therefore given birth to a sequel, soberly entitled Wilfrid. “We came back in winter with the same technical team, we brought back the actors… And we shot this epilogue, which is a real break in tone. It’s more melancholy, much less funny,” the director told the CNC. A new spotlight on the Vienne and its treasures.

Near Morthemer, Wilfrid organized a private screening of the film with family and friends around the bread oven adjoining his property, which had not worked since 1947.

Château de Morthemer

Mentioned as early as 1077, the castle of Morthemer is one of the jewels of the Vienne. Listed as a historical monument since 1927, its appearance is quite different from that of its origin.

Originally built as a five-story square tower overlooking the valley, the castle was restored and raised massively in 1865. Boeswillwald, a disciple of Viollet-le-Duc, was responsible for adding height to the building, which was originally simply connected to the church by a 17th century dwelling.

Nowadays, the building is designated as a castle-church and belongs to a private owner. Unfortunately, it is not accessible to visitors.
