Aboard the boat scheduled for Q’s retreat, James Bond pursues the woman who tried to kill him. This chase, starting at MI6 headquarters, ends at the Millennium Dome.
From here, Giulietta tries to escape in a hot-air balloon, but James Bond manages to grab onto the cables just before take-off. Feeling trapped, Giulietta prefers to die rather than fall into the hands of MI6. His employer scares him much more than the secret service.
In a terrible explosion, the young woman dies, while James Bond lands on the roof of the Millennium Dome and spins down it.
The World Is Not Enough is Desmond Llewelyn’s last film after starring in 17 feature films in the saga. A rumor announced his return in the next opus, but the actor died in 1999 in a car accident.
The Millennium Dome Millennium Way
Created by architect Richard Rodgers for the new millennium in 2000, the Millennium Dome is a unique multi-sport complex.
Its dome, the largest in the world, is held up by 12 masts 100 m high to which are attached numerous cables holding the 100,000 m2 canvas.
Initially an exhibition venue when it was inaugurated, it is now a multi-sports complex, renamed the O2 Arena in 2007, which also hosts concerts and shows.
