The McFly family home is a constant in the saga. With each adventure, the residence is a real refuge for the young man, a landmark.
There were many events. The BMW destroyed by Biff (Thomas F. Wilson) during the first timeline of 1985, which is then pampered by the same ex-thug when the time line was changed by Marty and Doc, the house inhabited by another family during the second installment and then the reunion with the McFly family and the Toyota 4×4 in the third film.
We can also mention the return of Doc from 2015 to 1985 aboard a flying DeLorean powered by a MrFusion to drive simply with garbage, sequence during which Doc pronounces his famous line, “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”.
A phrase so famous that Ronald Reagan repeated it during his State of the Union Address speech in 1986. The 40th president of the United States was also a true fan of the saga and would have laughed so loudly during the screening at the mention of his name that he asked the projectionist to rewind to review the sequence.
Far from the crazy theories of choosing this speed for time travel, Bob Gale, the screenwriter, explained that he chose the 88 miles for two reasons. The first is that it is high enough to discourage some fans wanting to reproduce the scene, the second was that it is easy to remember.
