Marcel-Deflandre Stadium
It is in the comic book Ma guerre, de La Rochelle à Dachau that Tiburce Oger pays tribute to his grandfather Guy-Pierre Gautier. Before becoming a local figure of the resistance, the young boy was a member of the Athlétique ouvrier rochelais, the athletics club of the maritime city of Charente.
As he mentions in his story, the young boy lives not far from the stadium, at 45 rue du Général Dumont. The stadium where Guy-Pierre and his friends train is the Marcel-Deflandre Stadium, built in 1926 and renovated in 1995. Today, it hosts the Stade Rochelais rugby matches in one of the most festive atmospheres of the championship. The Yellow and Blacks are making a name for themselves in the Top 14 and on the European scene.
The Marcel-Deflandre Stadium can accommodate up to 16,000 spectators.

It can accommodate 16,000 spectators and was renovated in 2010.
