Kulture
The character played by Jonah Hill in You People is passionate about sneakers. At the center of urban culture, shoes are an integral part of the film’s plot. In this, director Kenya Barris had to find a place to shoot to illustrate Jonah Hill’s character Ezra’s attachment to sneakers.
Sneakers and co.
It was at Just One Eye, which he wished to rename Kulture, that Kenya Barris filmed the scene in which Ezra tells his best friend Mo (Sam Jay) about meeting Amira (Lauren London). A luxury store like no other, whose shelves have been modified by the team of decorators to display many sneakers, instead of luxury items such as Cartier jewelry and other outfits of great designers.
One place, two scenes
Just One Eye makes its return at the end of the film, when Ezra’s mother (Julia Louis-Freyfus) makes her son believe that she wants to buy shoes. So she goes with Ezra in front of the store and meets Amira and her father (Eddie Murphy). Kulture becomes the place where the two lovers celebrate their marriage, in a happy ending that perfectly conforms to the specifications of romantic comedies.
You People is the second film written by Jonah Hill.
