Jungle
Jason Moore and his cast arrive in the Dominican Republic during the winter as the world unknowingly prepares to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. The filming is centralized at the ANI hotel complex but many scenes are filmed in the jungle of the Samaná peninsula. It is in particular here that Jennifer Lopez knows a particularly striking episode.
Cold Sweats
In a scene from Shotgun Wedding, Jennifer Lopez’s character’s wedding dress gets caught in one of the wheels of a car. The vehicle rushing towards the cliff. While everything is done to avoid problems, the dress really gets stuck in the wheels and the star narrowly misses being dragged away. A still painful memory for the actress. This last one having affirmed to have thought that she was never going to return from this risky shooting on many aspects.
Romance and punches
Used to romantic comedies, Jennifer Lopez welcomed Shotgun Wedding with great enthusiasm, as she told The News, a British news website: “I’ve done a lot of romantic comedies so I liked that Shotgun Wedding also contains its share of action scenes. For me, it’s all about taking the audience on a journey with me and giving them many adventures. It is a very modern film.“
Jason Moore worked on 5 series before directing Shotgun Wedding, namely Dawson, Everwood, One Tree Hill, Brothers and Sisters and Trophy Wife.
Samaná
At the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, this 1,000 km2 peninsula is crossed by the Cordillera de Samaná.
It was in the 15th century that the Samaná peninsula was discovered by European explorers. The main city, Santa Bárbara de Samaná, was founded in 1756. It currently has more than 51,500 inhabitants. Visited by several conquistadors, known to have been trodden by Christopher Columbus, the peninsula was also the object of Napoleon’s covetousness. It is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Dominican Republic.
