House of Dominic Toretto
Director Rob Cohen began shooting Fast and Furious in July 2000. Wishing to locate his plot in Los Angeles, he chose the Echo Park neighborhood because of its hilly streets.
It is also in the neighborhood that he finds the house of Dominic Toretto, the main character played on screen by Vin Diesel. If the building lends itself perfectly to the director’s ambitions, he deems it useful to make a few changes.
He had the façade repainted in white with the agreement of the owners at the time in order to highlight the cars. Rob Cohen also commissioned the fabrication of a garage since the house lacks one. For the driveway, on the other hand, the production uses a little trick and exploits the one of the neighboring house.
If the exterior is largely used, in the first film but also in the following ones, Rob Cohen also films some indoor scenes.
The two actresses Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez did not have a driver’s license before joining the saga.
722 E Kensington Rd
Built in 1906 in the Echo Park neighborhood, this house became one of the most famous in the city following the release of the first Fast and Furious movie.
The Toretto family’s headquarters is located just a few meters from the home of the Charmed sisters. Destroyed then rebuilt in the saga, this house receives for years the visit of many fans. It includes four apartments. Count about 2 000 dollars per month to have the chance to reside there. Regularly highlighted in the course of the many sequels produced over the years, this building has been estimated at 1 105 861 dollars. For those who are interested, the 1970 Dodger Charger does not come with the walls.
The Fantrippers Buying Board
The Nissan Skyline from Fast and Furious
The Fast and Furious saga is emblematic and which car to choose among all those that heroes buy, sell, destroy, steal… The Nissan Skyline is one of the most obvious choices. Present from the short film The turbo-charged prelude linking the first and second parts, the Nissan Skyline is a legend in street racing, and probably one of the most beautiful cars driven by the late Paul Walker.
