Hogwarts Express Bridge
Equipped with the flying Ford Anglia, Harry and Ron try to catch up with the Hogwarts Express. A little too well, in fact, since the train almost hit them. This scene quickly became a cult favorite and helped make the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the famous Hogwarts Express bridge, a major tourist destination.
Every year more than 300,000 visitors flock to get up close and personal with the monument. A success due, in large part, to his appearance in Harry Potter. A reputation which unfortunately has sometimes unpleasant consequences for the inhabitants. The parking lots are very quickly full and tourists sometimes park on the side of the road. Unauthorized parking is often a problem. And although the saga is now over, the attendance is not decreasing. Impossible to cut the ties with success.
In 2018, nearly 2,000 tourists came to admire the bridge each day.
Glenfinnan Viaduct
Built between 1897 and 1901, the Glenfinnan viaduct spans the Finnan River and is 380m long and 30m high.
