Hogsmeade Station
Hogwarts students take the Hogwarts Express to get to their school. Departing from King’s Cross Station in London, the apprentice witches and wizards arrive at Hogsmeade Station and are greeted by Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane). They can then reach the famous school that can be seen in the distance.
The actual train station used as a backdrop is Goathland in North Yorkshire. As the many potterheads can see on site, the locations have undergone very few changes from the teams in charge of the sets. Only the signage and the digital addition of the castle in the background have been completed.
The very first volumes of the saga, published in 1997 in 500 copies, are valued today between 40,000 and 55,000 dollars.
North Yorkshire Moors Railway - Goathland Station
Goathland station in North Yorkshire was opened in 1865 and first named Goathland Mill, due to its proximity to the watermill.
Deemed uneconomic in 1965, Goathland station was closed to the public in 1965 and to freight traffic in 1966. However, in 1973, the station was able to reopen its tracks to freight.
