Ghostface Cinema
The entire final scene of Scream 6 takes place in an old movie theater transformed into a macabre museum by the new Ghostface. Here, the latter has exposed the relics that once belonged to the killers of the previous installments of the saga. Remarkable for its beauty, this cinema is actually Le National, a 1900 theater located in Montreal. None of the footage in Scream 6 was shot in New York City, where the plot is set.
New York, New Team
Even more than the previous film, Scream 6 is marked by a desire to move forward, with new characters. Nevertheless, some iconic faces of the saga, namely Courtenex Cox, Hayden Panettiere and Skeet Ulrich, play decisive roles. Neve Campbell, the interpreter of Sidney Prescott has however declined the invitation of the directors because of a salary deemed insufficient.
Invested directors
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the two directors of Scream 6 recalled the Montreal tourange to MovieWeb: “Being there together in Montreal was so effortless. We’ve already been a family for a couple of years. It was so special. It makes every day, regardless of obstacles and headaches, just surmountable because we’re doing it together. I know it’s a corny answer, but everything was good for that reason.”
Scream 6 sees the return of three actors from the Scream saga, namely Courteney Cox, Hayden Panettiere and Skeet Ulrich.
The National Theater
This magnificent theater is particularly famous for its richly decorated room.
The National was born on August 12, 1900 and was first devoted to theatrical performances, before hosting comedians. Over the years, events like Just for Laughs took up residence there and many concerts were given there. Bands like Arcade Fire, Duran Duran, 30 Seconds to Mars, Mumford and Sons and Simple Plan have played there.
