Gendarmerie of Châtellerault

TV show Scènes de ménages (2009)
Raymond (Gérard Hernandez) is passionate about models as well as childish things. He evokes the gendarmerie of Châtellerault.

“- Look at this. You won’t find any defects. Everything is scaled to the millimeter. 70 hours of work.

– Yes, but that’s okay. It’s never just the Châtellerault gendarmerie eh.”

Raymond and Huguette (Marion Game)

For the fourth time, Raymond made a scale model of the gendarmerie of Châtellerault, as it was in 1973, with its azure blue shutters. What Huguette didn’t miss was the fact that that year, Raymond had “miserably” failed his officer’s exam.

If the model looks very well made, it has a major flaw. It looks nothing like the old châtelleraudaise gendarmerie, the one Raymond might have known in 1973.

5 Bd Aristide Briand

Located at 5 bd Aristide Briand, the former gendarmerie barracks of Châtellerault was active for 67 years.

Put at the disposal of the châtelleraudais gendarmes in 1949, the barracks of 5 Bd Aristide Briand has notably seen the celebration of the bicentenary of the gendarmerie in 1991 in the presence of Edith Cresson then Prime Minister.
