Farm
Diary of an exile, the docu-drama by Patrick Basso, is inspired by Odette Noirel’s Cahier. In her writing, this Moselle woman tells of her hasty departure from her department for that of the Vienne during the German occupation. His family arrived by train at the Loudun station and then stayed in Pouant, a few kilometers east of the Vienne sub-prefecture.
For the purposes of filming, the director’s teams chose the farm of Valère and Roberte Mauxion in the hamlet of Épennes in Bournand, about ten minutes north of Loudun. So on July 8, 2019, the cameras film extras and actors in this old farmhouse very well maintained.
In 1940, 300,000 Moselle inhabitants were expelled and welcomed in 48 departments, including the Deux-Sèvres and the Vienne, particularly in the Loudun and Verrières regions. Each passenger is allowed a maximum of 30 kg of luggage. Many of them have never travelled by train and have never travelled at all.
The docu-drama Journal d’un exil lasts 90 minutes.
Épennes
Épennes is a small hamlet in the commune of Bournand in the loudunais region of the Vienne.
Although Bournand has 885 inhabitants, it is no less culturally rich.
It is home to La pierre folle des Ormeaux, a dolmen, the ruins of the mills commandery, a wash house, the château de Verrières, the logis de Thênay and the church of Saint-Martin.
