Entrance to the secret laboratory
A door planted in the center of a desert landscape. The entrance to the secret laboratory is supposed to be located in California in the series but was actually installed not far from Albuquerque, near the historic village of Zia Peublo. A way of not being too far away from the studios and the city, where the production has shot several scenes taking place at the high school, in the Byers’ new house or at the Roller King, the roller room where Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Will (Noah Schnapp) meet.
If several episodes of season 4 are directed by Matt and Ross Duffer and Shawn Levy, present since the beginning of the show, Nimrod Antal was also entrusted with the direction. Originally from Hungary, this director is known to Metallica fans for having orchestrated the film Through the Never but also the horror films Predators and Motel.
Season 4 of Stranger Things is the first season that has warranted filming abroad, namely in Lithuania.
Zia Pueblo
Located at the extreme north of Albuquerque in the State of New Mexico, in the middle of the desert, Zia Pueblo seems to be out of time.
Taking place amidst towering rock formations, Zia Peublo is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Just over 600 people live year-round in this remarkably well-preserved village. A place whose history closely follows that of the entire region, a few kilometers from Albuquerque, far from shopping centers and other tourist centers.
