ENSI Poitiers
From November 2018 to February 2019, comic book artist Robin Cousin was in residence at the University of Poitiers. Of his four months in the city of Pictou, he made a first album Des milliards de miroirs.
Passionate about new technologies and sciences, the artist had previously published a comic strip in this vein, namely Le profil de Jean Melville published by the Poitiers structure Flblb.
During his stay at the university, he pursued this theme by meeting professors and other lecturers in science and philosophy. Without being a specialist in these subjects, he was able to deepen his questions like Candide. With the writing and the realization of the plates of Des milliards de miroirs, he also animated workshops with pupils of the Lycée du Bois d’Amour but also with students. These moments of creation also allowed him to imagine a new story, Cursus fin du monde.
The plot of this comic book takes place entirely on the campus of the University of Poitiers. On the cover, they climb on the structure of the ENSI Poitiers (National Engineering School). They can be found not far from this establishment, at the Student House but also in their university rooms or at student parties in the city. Through these young adults, Robin Cousin tackles many very current subjects such as ecology, collapsology, capitalism, man’s responsibility for nature, technological progress, experimentation and radical activism.
The main characters do not hesitate to question their teachers, leading to passionate and exciting debates. And if the questions are deep, so are the answers.

Cursus fin du monde (French Edition)
“Can science still save the world? Robin Cousin asked this question to researchers, during a residency at the University of Poitiers, in 2019. Their answers revealed to him the contribution of the humanities to scientific research, as well as the importance of funding. A plea for free research.”
