One of the most striking scenes of the saga, the death of Dobby, the elf. He bravely came to free Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione (Emma Watson), Ron (Rupert Grint), Luna (Evanna Lynch), Gripsec (Warwick Davis) and Ollivander (John Hurt) from the clutches of Lucius Malfoy (Jason Isaacs) and Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter) The elf then breathes his last in the arms of his friend, Harry Potter. The latter, without the help of magic, then digs Dobby’s grave.
The death of Dobby, a trauma for many
In 2018, J.K. Rowling apologized on Twitter for taking the elf’s life. Many fans are indeed outraged and shocked by the death of the character. Many also spoke out following the tweet to express the deep sadness they felt after Dobby’s passing.

Dobby’s grave became an ecological disaster
For this reason, many fans come since the release of the film in 2010 to visit Dobby’s “grave” on the beach of Freshwater West. But these tributes come at a cost, especially to nature. Many admirers of the elf come to deposit objects and in particular socks, symbol of the freedom of the magic creature. Unfortunately, these illegal deposits are now threatening the fauna and the authorities have recently issued a statement asking visitors not to deposit objects on the site.
A magical place
Freshwater West is not only known for Dobby’s grave, but also for being the location of the Shell House, the home of Fleur Delacour (Clémence Poésy) and Bill Weasley (Domhnall Gleeson). It is in this house that the young wizards come to take refuge. Difficult scenes to shoot for Daniel Radcliffe, but not only to feign his grief after the death of his friend. David Yates, the film’s director, confided that the young actor was chilled, but the crew kept shooting to capture the energy of the place in that solemn moment, impossible to achieve on a sound stage.
