Desert

“We found Ammit, she’s here.”
Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke)
Placing its action in Egypt, and in particular in the desert, the teams of Moon Knight had to find an equivalent in another country to shoot the outdoor scenes. They decided to put their cameras in the desert of Wadi Rum in Jordan.
This beautiful valley with its ochre tones was used for the outdoor scenes of the tomb, as well as for all the scenes where Marc (Oscar Isaac) and Layla (May Calamawy) follow the map leading to Âmmit.
Wadi Rum is a desert used to Hollywood since several films have already been shot there, including Dune by Denis Villeneuve, where Oscar Isaac played Leto Atreides, the lord of the House of his name.
In the universe of Moon Knightuniverse, the tomb of Âmmit is located at 29°N, 25°E, which is the border between Libya and Egypt.
Wadi Rum Protected Area
With its rugged terrain, Wadi Rum bears witness to over one hundred and twenty centuries of human history.
Located in the southwest of Jordan, Wadi Rum covers 742 km2. This wonderful valley with its ochre tones has several remarkable sites such as the Nabatean temple, the Lawrence spring, the Burrah Canyon, the famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom and the Burdah Rock Bridge. Wadi Rum is also a popular site for rock climbers and an exceptional filming location. Its majestic expanses and spectacular landforms have been featured in films such as The Martian, Aladdin, Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, Dune, Prometheus, Red Planet and of course Lawrence of Arabia.
