Jean-Pierre Bonzini (Albert Dupontel) lives in the Champnier commercial zone at the entrance to Angoulême. When he is fired from his job as a salesman in a bedding franchise, he gets very angry and decides to find his brother (Benoît Poelvoorde) to live a life of “dog punk” in this big commercial area.
Their project is to put the “brothel” on the main traffic circle of the place by writing: “We are not dead” with the letters of different signs.
Many authorizations were requested to film in the stores. The teams had to resort to renting for some scenes.
The film attracted 430,000 spectators in French theaters.
Les Montagnes
The commercial area north of Angoulême between Champniers and Gond Pontouvre is called Les Montagnes.
With over 70 businesses located in the area, Les Montagnes is one of the most important commercial zones in the Angoumois region.
