Puente Gravina In Puglia

Saga James Bond
Movie No Time To Die (2020)
Just when he thought he was done with violent confrontations and car chases, James Bond (Daniel Craig) is caught up in his past. On vacation in Italy with his fiancée Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), he suddenly finds himself trapped on a bridge and is forced to jump off. The introductory sequence of No Time to Die exploited the romantic landscapes of southern Italy.

The ambush on the bridge takes place while James Bond is in Matera. In reality, however, the building is located in Gravina in Puglia, about thirty kilometres from Matera. Determined to use the bridge as the setting for one of the film’s big action scenes, director Cary Joji Fukunaga asked the special effects team to digitally link the bridge to Matera. Before the film was released in theatres, the latter shared working shots on which appeared a drawing of the bridge, hanging on the cliff where the troglodytic village of Matera is located. On screen, the illusion is perfect.
