The narrator
From the window of his room in the Three Pillars Inn, Vasco noticed a horseman riding under a downpour of water and speeding past the château des Évêques before leaving the city and joining the Vienne River. The mysterious character has an appointment with his sponsor.
Later, the famous horseman murders Vasco’s squire friend, thinking that the latter was the real tenant of the room.
The Vasco saga consists of 30 volumes and 4 special issues.
The Giants of the Sky - Flight Scene
Installed at the Château des Évêques, the show The Giants of the Sky is a must-see during a stay in the Vienne department.
Also called baronial castle, the château des Évêques was built in the 11th century and enlarged over the years. Its keep was reinforced in the 13th century and its large walls protected it from assaults during various wars. Sold during the Revolution, the buyer hastened to use it as a stone quarry, explaining its dilapidated state today.
However, it hosts, among others, the famous show The Giants of the Sky. More than a hundred birds, including falcons and other birds of prey, fly freely above the spectators in a spectacular and graceful acrobatic display.
