Catford Centre
June 2021. Ed Sheeran, after several months of absence, releases his brand new track Bad Habits. It is accompanied by a video clip shot two months earlier in the London suburbs, at the Catford Centre shopping centre.
Dressed in a pink suit, made up with sequins and sporting long white fangs, the singer showed off his “vampire” form to show his dark side and his “bad habits”, which manifested themselves after dark.
And what a surprise for the regulars of this small London shopping area to see a huge device in its galleries! And at the corner of a corridor, the superstar Ed Sheeran, gives a performance out of the ordinary. The news soon reached many onlookers and crowds flocked to catch a glimpse of the English artist. One observer of the funny ride reported to The Sun, “he was cool about it, he was waving to some kids and laughing about it all.” A video that brings new blood to the artist’s record.
The song was a huge international success, reaching number one in the charts in some thirty countries.
Catford Centre
Opened in 1974, the Catford Centre is a suburban London shopping center located in the town of Catford.
Built in the middle of the city, the Catford Centre gathers many brands. The entrance is marked by a huge sculpture of a black cat that has become a symbol for the inhabitants.
The city center being in full rehabilitation, the question of moving the statue has been much discussed. The municipality chose to leave the effigy in place following a petition particularly followed by BBC London News.
