Family Affair
Camille (Camille Razat) invites Emily (Lily Collins) to spend the weekend at her parents’ castle in Champagne. The goal is to convince Emily to join the Domaine de Lalisse as a client of the Savoir agency.
Between family stories and love affairs, Emily spends an eventful weekend that she will not soon forget.
The castle of Lalisse in Indre-et-Loire ?
Although the series makes us believe that the episode takes place in Champagne, the reality is quite different. The castle used during the shooting is the castle of Sonnay in Cravant-les-Côteaux, a commune in India and Loire.
The production teams had mandated the organization Le Plateau, the audiovisual pole of Roiffé, to propose shooting locations between Poitou, Touraine and Anjou. The latter had drawn up a list of six locations. The teams of the series did not find the right place in Champagne, studied the list of which was the castle of Sonnay.
“The Americans are not looking to promote a region but to tell a story in the right setting,” said the owner of the castle, Frederic de Foucaud, who is also a film director.
The teams ofEmily in Paris settled in Cravant-les-Côteaux for two weeks to shoot the scenes of the first season.
Château de Sonnay
It is in the commune of Cravant-les-Côteaux, in Indre-et-Loire that the castle of Sonnay is built.
Former fief of the High, Middle and Low Justice, the castle of Sonnay is erected on an ancient site inhabited since the Neolithic period.
The site will see the passage of several families as owners until the current owner: the Foucaud family.
Today, the Château de Sonnay is one of the most important vineyards in the Indre-et-Loire region, having won a gold medal for its wine in the past.
