As for the other locations, the casino of Mineurs 27 is a real gambling establishment, located not far from the shore in Royan. Belonging to the Barrière network, this casino was used as a backdrop for one of the rare scenes involving the characters portrayed on screen by the Lellouche brothers, who were paired together for the first time in a film. A detail that director Tristan Aurouet returned to at the time of the film’s theatrical release: “Gilles Lellouche is my childhood friend. I worked with him for 10 years, we did Narco together. It was essential that he be part of the adventure, from near or far. Well, it turns out that there was this role that was written. It was also the occasion to associate Gilles and his brother for the first time.“
As for Marie-Ange Casta, she came back to her film debut in Mineurs 27 on Canal +: “Tristan Aurouet came to get me. I think he saw me in Paris Match. He thought I fit the character. Tristan told me about his references, he showed me pictures of landscapes, as the setting is very important in the film. He really made me want to enter his world. Mineurs 27 obtained its financing from 6 structures: Canal +, Ciné +, the CNC, the Poitou-Charentes region, the Procirep and the Charente-Maritime department.
