Canal du Curé
Agnes de Chastillon and her traveling companion Etienne Villiers face a gang of assassins near the bank of the Canal du Curé. Etienne is wounded in the battle, forcing Agnes to transport him to the nearest village; a hamlet that Agnes will regret having entered.
Supposedly set in 1522, this little misadventure contains an anachronism. The Canal du Curé was not dug until the 18th century, more than 300 years after the bloody altercation.
Although Conan: Serpent War is a relatively recent story, the character of Agnes de Chastillon was invented in 1975. Until now, she has rarely been at the center of a House of Ideas storyline.
Canal du Curé
Fed by the Curé, the Virson and the Roulière, the Canal du Curé is part of the Sèvre Niortaise watershed.
Located in Charente-Maritime, the canal was built between 1774 and 1791. It runs through the towns of Andilly, Anais, Nuaillé-d’Aunis and Angliers.
The Canal du Curé is mainly used to regulate the waters of the Curé, a small coastal river that overflows every winter and floods the marshy land, the Mares de Sérigny.
With a length of 17 kilometers, it is the fourth longest canal in the department.
