“- Don’t worry about me. O’Malley needs help. Duchess and kittens are in trouble.

– Come on, cats, we gotta split.

– Hey, wait for me! You don’t know the way!”

Roquefort and Scat Cat

The ugly Edgar goes after Duchess and the kittens. Thomas O’Malley decides to act, but he needs reinforcements.

He sends Roquefort, the mouse who is a friend of the kittens and of Duchesse, to look for his friends the alley cats.

Roquefort falls into an ambush and can no longer remember the name of his sponsor. Until he finally managed to pronounce it.

At the mere mention of O’Malley’s name and the danger threatening Duchess and the kittens, the Scat Cat troop sets off.

A little too hastily since they don’t even know where they are supposed to go. Roquefort chases them to show them the way.

At that moment, the merry band passes the Café de la Paix where a man is sipping a bottle of wine.

When he sees a mouse chasing cats, he is convinced that he has had too much to drink and empties the rest onto the road.

325.000

That’s how many drawings the animation team had to make for The Aristocats.

Café de la Paix

The Café de la Paix is anchored in the history of Paris in the same way as certain monuments.

Opened in 1862, the Café de la Paix soon turned some heads. Initially only the café restaurant of the Grand Hôtel de la Paix, the concession was entrusted to Arthur Millon in 1897 to become the Café de la Paix.

A temporary cinema in the 1896s, regularly painted by Constantin Korovine, frequented by Emile Zola, Guy de Maupassant and Piotr Tchaikovsky at the end of the 19th century, the Café de la Paix is rooted in pop culture as well as in the hearts of Parisians.

So much so that the café room, its decor and several elements of the hotel housing it were listed as historical monuments in 1975.
