Bred2Buck Saloon

TV show Tulsa King (2022)
Former prisoner Mitch Keller (Garrett Hedlund) runs the Bred2Buck Saloon, a country-western style establishment where Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) ends up making a habit. The Whiskey Barrel in Oklahoma City lent its facade to the fictional bar at the center of the Tulsa King plot.

“- I couldn’t help notice, are those lizard boots you’re wearing?
– Yes, sir, they are. Made in Texas just like me.
– Check these out. Made in Italy, like my old man.
– Well, how about that? We both like dinosaurs.
There you go.”

Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) and Wade (Justin Henry)

Upon his arrival in Tulsa, New York mobster Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) tries to make connections to make money. He ends up partnering with Mitch Keller (Garrett Hedlund), an ex-convict now running the Bred2Buck Saloon. Straddling Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Tulsa King ‘s production set its sights on the Whiskey Barrel to create Mitch’s bar on screen. Nevertheless, only the façade was used while the interior was entirely built in studio.

New boss

Tulsa King ‘s decorators just changed the saloon sign to incorporate the one created for the story. Already equipped with a large parking lot, where season 1 ends, the Whiskey Barrel was perfect as it was to become one of the nerve centers of the series. A bar where some of the most decisive sequences of the show take place, including a homeric confrontation between Dwight Manfredi and a local kingpin.

A first for Sylvester Stallone

If many actors have made their debut on television, Sylvester Stallone has gone directly to the cinema. Tulsa King thus marks his arrival on the small screen, at 75 years. A commitment that from the start involved several potential seasons. The interpreter of Rocky Balboa confided to the site Collider: “We talked about the possibility that Tulsa King could last several seasons with Taylor Sheridan. I’m a big believer, since I started my career, in sequels. I think that if you build a character, why have them disappear? Like say, The Godfather, Michael [Corleone], you want to see him move on. I want the same thing with this.”

3,7

The first episode of Tulsa King drew 3.7 million viewers in the U.S. A record for a first episode in 2022.
