The studios of the Plaine Saint-Denis are set aside for the bonus, Enfin en vacances à la mer. In this new format, Raymond and Huguette are at the Plestin-les-Grèves campsite in Brittany, Marion (Audrey Lamy) and Cédric (Loup-Denis Elion) are in Morocco, Liliane (Valérie Karsenti) and José (Frédéric Bouraly) are in a villa, Fabien (David Mora) and Emma (Anne-Élisabeth Blateau) are in Fabien’s parents’ house and Philippe (Grégoire Bonnet) and Camille (Amélie Etasse) are in Bali.
All this little world is actually in Charente-Maritime, around Royan. More precisely in Saint-Georges de Didonne. The common point of the couples is the beach of the city, more precisely the creek of Suzac. Behind Raymond and Huguette, we can see the recognizable cliffs overhung by the Suzac fort. When Liliane and José observe with attention the statues of Vanessa (Adriana Karembeu) and Vincent (Francois Vincentelli), the same cliffs, hidden behind the effigy of Vincent, are recognizable. Cleverly, the other shots do not show the rocky facades, but only the sea or the beach when it comes to the couples formed by Fabien and Emma and by Philippe and Camille.
The outdoor shoot was a welcome change for the entire team, even if the different setting of the studios brought its own complications. Accustomed to a set and easily tamed light, the technicians had to deal with new adjustments according to the shadows or low light. The wind also came to play the rascals while the rain sometimes disturbed the catches. But this new environment was also an opportunity for some to approach their fans, like Gerard Hernandez, delighted to be able to discuss with his youngest admirers. “When a child asks me: ‘Raymond, can I give you a kiss?’ it’s the best gift in the world,” the actor told Parisian in 2015.
Scènes de ménages is an adaptation of the Spanish series Escenas de matrimonio.
Crique de Suzac
The most southern beach of Saint-Georges de Didonne, the crique de Suzac has an idyllic natural setting and a splendid view on the ocean.
South of the Grande Plage, the crique de Suzac was first frequented by naturists thanks to its slightly recessed location and little known by tourists. Below the fort of Suzac, the beach is a nice stopover for vacationers, located near the city’s campsites.
