Having benefited from the financial support of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, director Tristan Aurouet shot the entirety of Mineurs 27 in the vicinity of Royan. The choice of the Pointe Espagnole beach was obvious because of the panorama it offers. A place where the filmmaker filmed important scenes, exploiting in particular the waves favored by the surfers of the region.
Nevertheless, Tristant Aurouet also went to the beaches of Nauzan and Plantin to diversify the setting of the painful story at the center of his feature film. The director, having never really explored the region, was delighted to be able to find a wide variety of panoramas to give body and substance to his story, between urban settings and more remote places, by the sea or in the forest. The beach of La Pointe Espagnole saw the debut of Marie-Ange Casta and Nassim Si Ahmed, under the gaze of veteran Jean-Hugues Anglade.
Mineurs 27 is the first film in which Nassim Si Ahmed appears.
Pointe Espagnole où Pointe d'Arvert
Fortified during the Second World War, the Pointe Espagnole beach is one of the most popular in the Royan area.
Popular with surfers because of its huge waves, this beach takes its name from the wife of the captain of the Antonio Carmenle, a Spanish schooner that ran aground on December 20, 1823. This last one having sunk in the madness by force to wait for her dear and tender. The beach includes a part reserved for naturism. It is also possible to practice fishing.
